Matthew Segal is an architect and developer based in San Diego, California. A graduate of the University of Southern California School of Architecture, his work spans single-family residences, adaptive reuse, urban infill, and historical preservation. His projects are characterized by a commitment to fire-resistant construction, net-zero design, and the thoughtful dialogue between raw materials and natural light.
Beyond his personal design and development work, Matthew serves as Lead Architect, Project Manager and Principal at Jonathan Segal FAIA, contributing to eight local, state, and nationally award-winning projects. He co-founded the Architect as Developer educational platform and serves as Chief of Staff at Sdlofts Inc, managing 70 apartment units.
Instrumental in the now statewide accepted code change to no parking requirement for residential projects in transit areas.
